Shady Senator

Recently, it has come to the attention of the public that Senator Arctirus Maximus has been accepting bribes for over 5 years, calling into question the entire senate and all it has done during this period. He has been issued a ban from all politics for the next 3 years, although this is expected to be raised to life soon. The specific bribes include taking outrageous sums from large farms, which led to the deregulation of the farming industry. This and many other senate cases may have to be revoted on. More on this shocking stories next week.

Success in Gaul

Rome has successfully conquered all of Gaul, resulting in the total destruction of that rival empire. This achievement is attributed to several recent military victories driven by Caesar's brilliant strategies. The Roman Empire has reached its greatest expanse today. We, as a people, must commemorate this. Both the Emperor and Senate concur, and a 100-day celebration of the victory in Rome is planned with parades and gladiatorial as well as chariot-based competitions occurring across the celebration.

Weather

The empire has recently experienced a dramatic drop in temperatures, raising serious concerns. Farms have suffered significant harvest losses, resulting in an impending widespread famine. It is anticipated that the celebration will be dedicated not to Caesar, but to Mars, in gratitude for aiding in this victory. This is expected to bring an end to the adverse weather, as Mars plays a crucial role in weather processes. Further updates on the weather will be provided next week.

Sporting Matchups

In this week's Chariot Race, Tildus Minimus faces off in a chariot-based duel against his rival Noctus Jentus. This ended up being one of the better duels in Roman history as Tildus and Noctus both had access to bows, which led to multiple intense strikes. Eventually, both chariots were down with one lap to go. Tildus was in front, but Noctus shot him while he was inches before the finish line. Tildus ended up winning via a call from the gamesmaster, leading to the uproar of the Noctus fans and the intense happy screams of the supporting Tildus fans.

In this week's gladiatorial matchup, Jentus Massacreus fights Lictus Maximas in an entertaining fight. It went back and forth for an extremely long time until eventually Lictus's shield snapped in half from a mighty blow from Jentus's sword. This led to a quick and easy Jentus win after the shield broke. However, while leaving in his chariot, he was murdered by a Lictus fan who was extremely angry about the dishonorable behavior of Jentus after the battle.
