Ancient Roman Times Issue 7

Mass Unemployment

Following the crash of the spice market in India, a series of economic downturns ensued, resulting in widespread unemployment among the Roman plebeians seeking to escape poverty. The Emperor's decision, after consulting with economic experts, is eagerly anticipated and is expected to be announced shortly. It is anticipated that a significant number of infrastructure projects will be initiated, temporarily alleviating the poverty levels as we explore sustainable long-term solutions.

Job Opportunities

Considering the high rate of unemployment, we will be exploring potential job opportunities for Plebeians. If you have an education, you may consider pursuing a career as a teacher, engineer, or architect, as there are significant openings in these fields. On the other hand, if you lack formal education, you could opt to become a Gladiator, a role that frequently has openings, or join the legion to defend Rome against the Gauls. Given the current challenging job market, we anticipate that the emperor will propose a sustainable solution in the near future.

Weather

Over the next week, Rome and much of the Mediterranean will experience significant storms. The island of Crete is currently facing flooding, leading many residents to seek refuge in rural areas. In Rome, heavy rainfall is expected, causing the cancellation of sporting events for the next 4 days.

Sporting Events

Jackius Henrius won the Chariot Race by a significant margin of 4 laps, resulting in a silent Colosseum. Despite an incident where Tiberius Longus tried to board Henrius's chariot during the race, resulting in Tiberius being impaled with a Gladius. Tiberius is anticipated to survive, although we are not healthcare professionals.

It was a dull day in the Gladiatorial arena due to the scorching heat, resulting in a sparse audience at the usually crowded Colosseum. Quintus Fabius emerged victorious by beheading his opponent Jamus Longus, receiving cheers from the small audience.
